Day 1: Yangon (Arrival) – Yangon Sightseeing

 

Upon arrival at Yangon International Airport, you will be greeted by your guide and driver. Transfer to the hotel for check-in and take a rest. In the evening, visit to the Shwedagon Pagoda, Myanmar’s most sacred pagoda. Shwedagon was built more than 2500 years ago to enshrine 8 hair relics of the lord Buddha. The stupa is more than 99 metres in height and is covered with 60 tons of gold plate and is topped by a collection of precious stones such as diamonds, rubies and sapphires.

Day 2: Yangon

 

After breakfast at hotel, start city tour sightseeing to the Sule Pagoda stands in the heart of the city, collection of various religious buildings around there. Take a short walk to the Mahabandoola public park, which contains the Independence monument, Town Hall registered at the list of Yangon Heritage sites and High court, the partly occupied building now functions as a local court. Visit to Chaukhtetgyi reclining pagoda (the second largest one in the world).

 

 

 

 

 

 

Continue visit to National Museum displays various antique Myanmar’s arts, manuscripts, handicrafts, thrones, royal regalia and archeological edifices and artifacts of the whole country. Explore to shop at Bogyoke Aungsan Market or Scott Market selling various souvenirs, colorful national races’ dresses, jewelry-made fancy things and a lot.

Day 3: Yangon – Bago – Kyaikhteeyo (Golden Rock)

 

After breakfast at hotel, drive to Bago which was a capital of Second Myanmar Empire founded by King Bayintnaung. Visit to the Shwemawdaw Pagoda which is the highest one (114m) in Myanmar and it was built since over 2600 years ago like Shwedagon Pagoda. Next visit will be second largest reclining Buddha Image called Shwetharhlaung Pagoda (60m) which is relaxing style of Buddha heading to the south.

 

 

 

 

 

 


Then, drive to Mon State to visit to the country’s famous religious site known as Kyaikhteeyo Golden Rock Pagoda. Driving hours will be about 3 hours to get there. On the way, you will see beautiful landscape and villages and towns. When you arrive at Kimpum Base Camp, you will hire local truck to climb up to get to the Golden Rock. You will see the gold-gilding Kyaikhteeyo Pagoda which is amazingly perched on the edge of the hill. You will experience with Buddhism activities and pleasant atmosphere. Watching sunset on the pagoda make you feel amazing, tranquil and unforgettable moment.

Day 4: Kyaikhteeyo (Golden Rock) – Nay Pyi Taw

 


After breakfast at hotel, drive to Naypyitaw which is union territory of Myanmar. Today driving will long about 6 hours. On the way, you will see vast flat land on which mostly agricultural farms and different flora. Local people’s living style and daily struggle along the road is interesting to see. When you arrive at Naypyitaw, drive to hotel for check-in and take a rest. Then, in the evening, you will visit to the famous Upattasandi Pagoda which is copy of Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon. After sightseeing, drive to hotel for check-in.

Day 5: Nay Pyi Taw – Mandalay

 

After breakfast at hotel, you will visit to the famous Upattasandi Pagoda which is copy of Shwedagon Pagoda in Yangon and located on the hill. Drive to Mandalay for about 4 hours long to arrive. Upon arrival, drive to hotel check in. Evening sightseeing will be started with Shwe Nan Daw Monastery with finest 19 century wood-carvings, Kuthodaw pagoda Complex consisting of 729 marble slabs of Tri-pitaka known as the world biggest book. Climb up the top of Mandalay Hill to watch the beautiful sunset over the city with panoramic view.

Day 6: Mingun – Ava - Amarapura

 

After breakfast at hotel, transfer to jetty where your private boat awaits. The boat will cross in the mighty Ayeyarwaddy river to Mingun which is river-bank historical site. Start sightseeing with the “Pahtotawgyi” massive unfinished pagoda, Mingun Bell which is the largest functioning bronze-cast bell in the world, and Hsinbyume Pagoda, very beautiful and sublime white-washed pagoda with circular-round shaped square. Then continue drive to Inva (Inwa) to take ferry-boat to cross the river. Take local horse-cart for sightseeing in Inva (ancient capital of Myanmar Kings) and go to the Bagayar Monastery built with large teak woods and “Yadanarsimi” Pagoda.

 

 

 

 

 


Next visit to the Nanmyint watch-tower, only one still remaining thing from Inwa royal palace buildings and “Mahaaungmyaybonesan” brick-made monastery, the finest architectural religious monument of Inwa era. Proceed to U Bein Bridge, the world’s longest teak bridge for long walk to see local life and beautiful surroundings and to watch amazing sunset. After sightseeing, drive back to Mandalay.

Day 7: Mandalay – Sagaing - Monywa


After breakfast at hotel, visit to the Mahamuni Pagoda (great Budda Image) which was cast by king sandathuriya during Buddha’s life time. Hence, it is believed as living Buddha Image. Then, drive to Sagaing (City of victory: religious land). When you arrive at the top of Saging Hill, you will see confluence of two rivers, panoramic of surroundings. Visit Soon-Oo-Pone-Nyar -Shin Pagoda and U Min-Thone-Sel pagoda (thirty-caved temples in which 45 seated Buddha images are placed).

 

 

 

 

 

 


Continue driving to Thanboddhay Pagoda, its modern architecture is unique and the most revered pagoda among Buddhists. There are many different Buddha images, row upon row in ascending tiers in niches along the walls with an amazing total number of 582. 257. Continue your visit to the nearby Bodhi Tataung (1000 Bodhi trees: under each tree one Seated-Buddha image is placed), the most impressive Standing Buddha Image (130 meters) which has been recognized as the world longest one.

Day 8: Monywa – Pakkoku – Bagan

 

After breakfast at hotel, drive to Monywa which is located at the west bank of Chindwin River. It is trading town between Myanmar and India. Visit to the Pho Win Taung and Shwe Ba Taung Caves, sandstone caves which contain mural paintings and several Buddha statues. The site is very popular with local pilgrims who come to pay homage to the images. Continue onwards to Pakokku to visit Thi Ho Shin temple and local Market. Cross the Ayeyarwaddy River in the late afternoon for the drive to Bagan. When you arrive at Bagan and visit to the Shwezigon Pagoda, the prototype of late Myanmar stupas and best architectural style in upper Myanmar. Enjoy your sunset and drive to hotel for check-in.

Day 9: Bagan


After breakfast at hotel, start temple exploration to Manuha Temple in which ancient Reclining Buddha Image and Big Alm Bowl donated by King Manuha while he was dethroned and brought to Bagan. Next visit to Myingabar Gubyaukgyi Pagoda in there you have chance to see the mural paintings of early Bagan period. Next to it, there are famous Myazedi Stupa (Emrald Pagoda) and Myazedi Stone Inscription which has been recognized as Memory of the World and it has been an important evidence of history of Myanmar literature writing. It was inscribed in four languages in each site by Burmese, Pali, Pyu, Mon.

 

 

 

 

 

Proceed to the Ananda Temple which remains as one of the finest and most beautiful of all Bagan’s architectural buildings, Htilominlo Temple is a big three story red brick temple in there exquisite finely detailed plaster still remaining, Dhammayangyi Pahto is Bagan’s most massive and famous for its brick-working. Visit to the lacquered ware shop to see colorful lacquered boxes, containers, kitchen wares and items. Continue visit to Thatbinnyu Temple is the tallest building in Bagan high 61 meters and it is four storyed buildings. Watch the beautiful sunset on the sunset hill overviewing the ancient capital filling with thousands of pagodas.

Day 10: Bagan – Mt.Popa – Kalaw

 

After breakfast at hotel, leave from Bagan to Mout Popa, home of spirits and also is marvelous natural park filling with rare orchids, butterflies, birds and trees. On the way, visit toddy-palm climber’s house to observe traditional ways of making palm-sugar and daily life. To reach at the top of Taungkalat, walk along the stairways for 30 minutes, in there you can study interesting activities of nat-believers and see the amazing views over surroundings and Bagan dotted numerous pagodas. Then, proceed driving to Kalaw.

Day 11: Kalaw – Pindaya – Inle

 

After breakfast at hotel, check out from hotel. Visit to the Kalaw Market, colorful place of hill tribes is coming to buy and sell local products, foods and traditional dresses. Drive to Pindaya to visit to the famous Shwe U Min Cave. Climb up the top, it gives a fantastic panoramic view on the opposite hills, statues of giant spider and Archer prince who was throwing at spider with arrow, the town, big banyan trees. From the Shwe U Min Pagoda, starts a network of passages and caves with over 8000 statues of the Buddha from different sizes and material. Most of the statues were brought by the pilgrims during the 18th century.

 

 

 

 

 


Make a stop at parasols (umbrella) making centre to see how to make them with traditional methods near the cave. Then, drive to Inle, second biggest lake and water village in the country. On the way to Inle, visit to the Khaung Taing Village to see the local life and works like sunflower roasting, crushing beas, making crackers and steeping rice and so forth. And then, we will drive to Inle to chek-in at hotel for night stay.

Day 12: Inle

 

After breakfast at hotel, explore in the Inle lake by boat to see floating islands of vegetation, one-leg rowing fishermen’s fishing business, lovely stilt houses in the water-village, silk-weaving workshop and Padaung people at Ywama, daily activities and lives of Innthas in the lake. Continue exploring to the ancient “Ngaphekyaung” Monastery to study monks’ daily life, monastic education. Boat ride to Inn-dain village on the west bank of lake is very typical to observe local people’s walk of lives. Stroll inside the historic shwe-inn-dain ruined-pagodas complex with Shan Style. You will see the Lotus weaving and traditional cheroot-making process in the lake. Phaung-Daw-Oo is the most revered and holiest pagoda houses small five gold-gilded images.

Day 13: Inle – Heho – Yangon

 

After breakfast at hotel, drive to Heho airport to take domestic flight to Yangon. Upon arrival at Yangon Airport, our English speaking driver will pick you up to hotel for check –in. Almost half day will be leisure. In the evening, visit to the Botahtaung Pagoda where can walk along a spiraling corridor with glass mosaic into the innermost part of the spire and see the relic chamber inside the temple. Near the pagoda, there is a jetty to see local ways of life and water way system.

Day 14: Yangon Departure
