Sagaing ( largest religious site in Myanmar)

Sagaing is located at the west bank of mighty Ayeyarwaddy River in Sagaing Region. Its classical name is Zayarpura means city of victory. It has been recognized as the largest Buddhist religious site in Myanmar with its hundreds of monasteries, nunneries, meditation centres, pagodas and religious buidings. Its main tourist attraction is Soon-Oo-Pone-Nya-Shin Pagoda on there travelers can see sublime Buddha Image, Stupa, panoramic view over the city. And the second one is U Min Thone Se Pagodas - 45 gold gilded seated Buddha Images are placed in the tunnel cave. There are 8 kinds of Myanmar Endemic Species of birds in the whole country. At Bagan, there are 6 species can be found. It is the only one for seeing even 6 species. Moreover, besides it, Spinel, Moonstone, Peridot, Danburite, Diopside, Alexandrite, Zircon, Garnet, Quartz, Amethyst, Aquamarine, Tourmaline, Apatite and Painite and Topaz. Almost all residents in Mogok work precious stone digging, polishing, cutting and selling. Some residents find gemstones for living and hand to mouth at the villages. They cut and polish gemstones with hand without using machines. Then, they sell the stones in the gem-stone markets locally called Htar Pwe. This markets are opened with different time duration. There are many stone-polishing and cutting workshops using modern machines. About 1000 gemstone mine can be found. Stone painting can be seen as family business at the local houses. Some precious stones are needed to bake by fire to be brighter and colorful. It can be learned at one local house. Hotels and are very nice to stay for foreign travelers.
